4/4/2015 What was Nintendo thinking?WOW - Nintendo was responsible for Sony PlayStation?!?
In 1986, Nintendo partnered with Sony to develop a CD-ROM attachment for the SNES, known as "Play Station" but couldn't agree over how to share the revenue and rights. Things were ok otherwise, until June 1991 when Sony debuted The PlayStation at the Consumer Electronics show, Nintendo was angry about this and then the very next day, said they were breaking their agreement and would be doing a new CD-ROM/SNES program with Philips. Sony decided to push forward into the gaming industry without Nintendo and within a few years, release the PlayStation we know and love, Oh yeah, Philips and Nintendo released the CD-i.
